Astronaut to be charged–caught with diapers

Lisa Nowak, a flight engineer and U.S. Navy Captain is to be charged with attempted murder. Allegedly, she attacked a woman who was a rival in her love triangle. She is married, and a mother of three kids. I was a bit shocked when I read the news. I don’t know the lady, but she obviously has some problems.

Apparently, Nowak drove from Houston to Orlando to kidnap the other woman. She kept diapers in the car so she wouldn’t have to stop on the way. (Astronauts wear diapers during launch so she already knew which brand stopped the leaks.) She was reportedly disguised in a wig and a trench coat.

Okay, how often have you heard that expression, “I’m not a rocket scientist but…” alluding to the intelligence of rocket scientists. Not everyone can work for NASA–it might be harder to get a job at NASA than at Google. So now we have a rocket scientist (okay engineer) taking diapers with her on a long trip so she can attack a woman who was a threat to her affair with another astronaut. This is weird. It shows that no matter how intelligent you are, you can still be stupid.

Lisa Nowak was highlighted in parenthood. com as a role model for young girls–showing how to be an astronaut and a mother. Apparently, you can be an astronaut, mother, stalker, attempted murderer, kidnapper and wacko all at the same time! She waited 10 years for her first space flight and ends it all over some guy. You would think as loony as she is, she’d been without oxygen frequently. An astronaut as a decent role model? No, they get caught up in love triangles and attempted murder. Better look at Hollywood for some common sense! UGH!

I thought the same thing when I read this story this morning. What does she have, a Ph.D in astrophysics or something? Zowie. Note to self: If I ever freely choose to be in a situation where I have to wear diapers rather than stop to pee, I will have to admit I’m a wacko. Great blog!

She visited my 8th grade daughter’s school 1 1/2 weeks prior to her “trip”. Talked on how you can do anything ..just go after it! Guess she really believed her own advice!! Hey how many people don’t follow their own advice?!
