Burping elephants

I was desperate. I scheduled myself to write a post today, and I was completely blank. This I am told it’s called writer’s block. I believe it is called “empty brain”. I have these times when it is obvious that my children took my brain cells with them. This is one of those times. Actually, childbirth kills mothers brain cells. Well, apparently stress can kill brain cells, and I am one of those strange mothers, who thinks that having babies can be a bit stressful.

I went to youtube to find a funny video to post here. I almost posted a video with an elephant burping on it. Yes, I was desperate. I know how high class my readers are so I decided I would forgo the burping elephant, and just ramble on about how I don’t have anything to say.

So, the question is, would you have enjoyed the burping elephant video more?

Scheduling writing is a sure way to schedule writer’s block. I mean, you have to write regularly; but you kinda have to sneak up on it, you know what I mean? So it doesn’t know you’re trying to accomplish something….

Could you split the difference and write about how you have absolutely nothing to say about the belching elephant monopolizing the screen?

Then, in a classic game of ignore the elephant, we could all comment about how lovely it was to read an elephant-free blog.

Oh never mind, that was a terrible idea, no one would really post anything that ridiculous.

…But just out of curiosity, where did you say you found that video?

My kids would have loved the burping elephant. Blogger’s block, eh? Nasty thing, that. Don’t schedule your posts, just let them happen when they want, we’ll be around even if we don’t know exactly when you will. You have a brilliant caption over at Diesel’s, by the way.

I liked the post, as is. It’s kinda like just sayin’ hi, sometimes. They don’t all have to be killers, right? Or that’s what I tell myself when I got nothin’. But anyway, it’s interesting being on the other side of it – and I’ll tell ya’, turns out it’s true!
