The Christmas Gift that Keeps on Giving

I drove by a store today that had a sign saying they sold dickies. I smiled. I thought, could it be, that essential item of the 70’s is back? But no, they sold Dickies a brand of worker’s clothing. I was upset. If anything was going to solve my Christmas shopping list dilemma it would be the dickie from the 70’s. The item that makes everyone think you are warm and toasty, but you have a secret…

True Fashion Never Goes Out of Style

Everyone will think you are wearing a turtleneck and you will be styling in a fake one! I can’t figure out why I can’t find a manufacturer that is currently making a dickie. It seems like it would be easy enough. Maybe I could start knitting some. Think of the money I would make since no one is making them right now. I would have zero competition.
Well, I have about a week and a half to learn how to knit and then I will start taking orders in December. I think I should be able to crank 1 out a week. So, I need three people ready to advance order rjlight’s fancy dickies for Christmas.  Any takers?

Well…if we don’t have to call them Diclkies I’m in -:
How about let’s call them faux t-necks or something?

Ooh, I want leg warmers! But then again, the shipping would be outrageous. The Dickie thing doesn’t do it for me, I think I’ll stick to whole t-necks, but good luck. 🙂

Funny, I remember wearing these things. They don’t make a lot of sense, however many things that we buy and wear don’t. Seems like you have an opportunity to corner the dickie market.

Momma and Mother Theresa — I can’t do leg warmers! Oh wait, I could make full turtlenecks and then cut the sleeves off for your leg warmers!

    meleah — what color?

tobeme — oh, yeah, I definitely will be the only one selling these hot items.

shy-shy — LOL! I so know! Make sure you say hi to Obama for me when your in the white house in January!

The popularity of Dickies is another trend I don’t get. They were worker’s clothes until a few years ago, when they suddenly became cool. Oh well, at least they’re practical, unlike wearing your pants around your knees.
